A lover’s complaint

tree-1992141 (1)

These streets I walk, they call your name.
Where my excursions have not been the same.
These trees and the birds sing your song.
When it rains, they’d want us to come along.

These evening breezes whisper me by the ear,
About how they loved seeing us in pair.
These lonely moments begging for your presence to be felt.
But your frozen heart has yet to melt.

These eyes of mine dying to see your light.
These hands wanting to hold you tight.
These immense crowds fail to connect my call.
So I die every night, thinking of you, wanting to share it all.

It is when I can’t endure this pain.
I write it down simple and plain.

A page I keep up every now and then,
What I call it, a lover’s complaint.

  1. When poems are written this beautifully, it makes you wonder if it’s a poem or a journal entry.

What you have written is just as gorgeous as the picture accompanying it.

I’ve felt this way many times over. It blows my mind how you were able to capture something so true so elegantly.

    I love it.

      1. It’s not all about effort, I think it’s also about the connection that you have with your mind and the soul. It really is that. And I’m pretty sure you’re aware of it.
Thank you for your interest on my work. It really means a lot. I’m grateful to have a genuine reader like you.

      2. The soul and mind is a connection that I cherish deeply. I always have and I yes I am very aware of how that is present in any form of creativity.

You are welcome. I can say the same to you. It’s a true pleasure to have a fellow expressionist not just read my work and comments but to find meaning and depth in them. Thank you as well.

  2. Despite your deepest thoughts and your wounding paper swords
These words of yours are what I’d call a lover’s plea
To be understood between the lines, to be truly heard
And be loved for all that you are in your entirety!
